At the start of a new financial year, sales are looking very strong.  Last year was our busiest yet, with a turnover of over £72, 000.  As we look to the next, we are beginning to see an end to negotiations to secure a shop site for sales in Penzance.  Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

With a view to increasing sales further, we are looking to expand into mail order by the end of 1999.  This will make shopping with us easier, wherever you are!  As mentioned in the previous magazine, a beautiful tea towel design is now available.  It is printed on unbleached cotton using natural dyes and is available in green, black or blue, priced at £2.95.  The same design is also available in a pack of ten notelets, priced at £1.95.  Shortly to arrive is a modification of Sarah's design on a carrier bag tidy (a long, tube-like bag for stuffing old carriers into - it has an elasticated opening at the bottom which enables you to remove them easily for reuse) and also a gussetted canvas shopping bag.  Prices of these items will be confirmed shortly.  If you would like to purchase any of the above, please phone myself or Pippa at the shop and, as with most of the items we sell at the shop, we will be delighted to package and send them to you.  The number is (01736) 331824.

Any Royal Cornwall Show volunteers please make yourselves known to me!  This year (possibly in an attempt to avoid rain) the show has been set a week later than normal, on 10th, 11th and 12th June.  I hope to see you there.  As well as an extensive sales area and the raffle, we will be offering a face-painting service for  children (young and old).  For a modest fee you can look like and save some of our wildlife at the same time.  We will also be setting aside some space for display and sale of work by wildlife artist Dick Twinney.  Dick has been kind enough to donate a limited-edition signed print for our raffle over a good many years - and at the Royal Cornwall Show it has always been the print that so many ticket buyers most wanted to win.  So, as a way to promote our raffle and give thanks to Dick Twinney, you will be able to come and view more of his work at our stand, including some new work by him -  dolphin paintings, which are very beautiful.

Thanks to all of you who have been supporting sales within the Trust, whether in person at the shop or at events, or by phone or letter.  I hope that you will continue to support us and may also encourage your friends to do the same!
