St Georges Island - a haven to treasure

global warming, with warmer water species being recorded more frequently. In managing the whole of the island the Trust's objectives are underpinned by a commitment to sustainability. It is hoped that renewable energy will be utilised and links demonstrated between global warming and the consumption of fossil fuels.

Boats over to the island run from Easter to late summer but can only go when tide and sea conditions allow. Visits normally last two hours, though can be longer depending on the tide. This gives ample time to explore the island and meet the locals to learn a little about its history and charm.
