Wild Cornwall Discovery
Day
This is the new name for our Annual Members' Day. As anyone is welcome to attend this day of events, we felt a new name would ^ be appropriate to encourage people to come along and discover what the Cornwall Wildlife Trust does. This year it is being held on :
Saturday 9th November at Chacewater Village Hall. The hall was rebuilt
with a millennium grant, while at the same time the opportunity was taken
to create a millennium green nearby for the village, which gave us two
good reasons for choosing it as a venue. It makes a pleasant setting and
the village is easily reached from the A30. |
David Bellamy, President of The
Wildlife Trusts, will speak at our Wild Cornwall Discovery Day on 9th

40th Anniversary Prize Draw This year we have decided to offer cash prizes so the draw will have a wider appeal and we can hopefully sell more tickets. As this year is our 40th anniversary, we are going to be selling tickets at all the anniversary events and hope to raise more money than ever before! |

Wildlife around the Clock Tehidy Country Park Saturday 14th September As a way of celebrating the Trust's anniversary. Fox Club and Watch will be drawing on their many years of experience in organising fun-filled - and educational - family events to stage a marathon 12-hour programme of activities at Tehidy Country Park near Camborne. You are welcome to join us for one of the sessions - morning, afternoon and evening - or to stay for the whole day. We will be having lunch there and have arranged a barbecue for tea. Our aim is to leam about the whole range of Cornish animal life, from the creepy-
|
crawlies to the reptiles, the mammals and even our largest sea creatures. We will finish with a dark experience and an opportunity to meet some creatures of the night. Tehidy holds fond memories for Fox Club and Watch. Over the years it has been the scene of many events, including the old Fox Club Camps. We are often reminded of these events by former members - some of them now working as conservationists but all of them valuing nature in their daily lives. It's good to know our efforts have had such an effect. For a programme and booking form - we would prefer you to book in advance - please call Tricia Hoskings on (01872) 240777 ext 200.
