The whole coast is scattered with old tin mines, the most famous being Wheal Coates near St. Agnes.
The north coast is well known for its fabulous surfing beaches at Perranporth, St. Agnes, Porthtowan, Portreath and Holywell Bay and are all patrolled by professional lifeguards, making the beaches safe for the whole family, providing the 'flag code' and lifegaurds are obeyed.
