Welcome to The Toll House
St Columb Major, Cornwall - Sleeps 4 + cot
The Toll House is a real find. Situated down a lane close to the small, quiet town of St Columb Major, this Grade II listed, detached, former toll keeper's cottage is a delight, with a pretty garden bordering a small river, which follows the Vale of St Mawgan to the sea at Mawgan Porth, 5 miles away.
As a base it is ideal for exploring Cornwall's Atlantic coastline, with many fine sandy and surfing beaches (Newquay, Porthreath and Perranporth), secluded estuary inlets and picturesque fishing harbours (Port Isaac, Padstow, and Boscastle), within easy driving distance. The North Cornwall coast path allows exploration of some spectacular coastal scenery and famous landmarks such as Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. Newquay, 7 miles, has a wide variety of leisure attractions to interest adults and children alike. St Columb Major itself is within walking distance of the Toll House and has good range of local shops.
The Toll House has great appeal and charm, is ideal for short breaks or longer stays throughout the year and suitable for couples or a small family. Its interior has genuine character - lots of exposed beams and small, leaded windows, complemented by tasteful furnishings in traditional style.
