Holiday house near Padstow
Homeleigh Cottage, Churchtown, St Issey, Wadebridge, PL27 7QA
With seven beaches within 4 to 7 miles, the area is rightly known as "7 bays for 7 days" so St Issey is spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a day out at the beach. The closest and arguably the most beautiful is Tregirls, 4 miles away. It is also the best for children as it is at the mouth of the Camel estuary and as such is the calmest and safest. There is parking and then a short 5-minute walk to the beach. There are no shops nearby so bring a picnic.
The biggest beach nearby is Constantine Bay which is great for the surfer and family alike (5.4 miles away). Another great surfing beach and firm family favorite is Harlyn (5.1 miles away).
Trevone Bay [4.2 miles away] is a small cove surrounded by cliffs. It is backed by Trevone village itself so there is a cafe, beach shop and farm shop all within a short stroll, not to mention a pub with gorgeous views.
Other beaches to try are Treyarnon, Porthcothan, Booby's Bay and Mother Ivey's Bay.
