  A summer only campsite, Ponsandane is just a short walk from the beautiful beaches of Mounts Bay, and set in parkland attractively screened by mature trees and a stream. Relaxed friendly atmosphere and campfires are allowed on the field. Close to Penzance Railway and Bus Station. Unrestricted pitches so even if you haven’t booked in advance we can usually still accommodate you. Open during July and August.

• Poldark Mine

  Wendron
  Poldark Mine is the only complete tin mine in Cornwall open for underground guided tours and is part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. It has a special place in the story of tin mining and some consider it to be the veritable cradle of tinning as part of the site dates back to the Bronze Age. It is the location for the underground scenes in the TV series of Poldark.

• Trengwainton Gardens

  With plants from around the globe scattered throughout Trengwainton’s ten-hectare garden near Penzance, there is something to inspire around every corner. Champion magnolias and vibrant rhododendrons make way for lush banana plants and soaring echiums. Rich collection of camellias and a series of walled gardens containing many unusual shrubs.

• Tremenheere Sculpture Garden

  Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens is a major new attraction in West Cornwall. • Godolphin House

Golf Courses/Clubs

• West Cornwall Golf Club

  Lelant
  West Cornwall Golf Club is probably one of the finest links courses in Cornwall. The course has a magnificent setting and has been moulded around the natural contours of the sand dunes that form part of the Hayle Estuary and Porth Kidney Sands. There are panoramic views from almost every hole with St. Ives Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse forming a memorable backdrop.

• Greenacres Short Golf and Penwith Pitch & Putt

  St Erth
  Greenacres Short Golf is a nine hole course, with holes ranging in length from 75 to 205 yards in length. Penwith Pitch & Putt is an 18 hole Pitch & Putt course, running alongside the Hayle river. The course is set in about 12 acres of Cornish countryside with natural streams. An ideal course for the beginner or wonderful practice for the experienced golfer.

• Praa Sands Golf & Country Club

  This lovely course, with its glorious views over the wide expanse of Mounts Bay, has recently been fully refurbished and extended with the planned addition of an exclusive new health and leisure complex offering a range of superb facilities. Open to both members and visitors the course is a deceptively challenging Par 62 for the men and Par 64 for the ladies, with each of the 9 tees enjoying those sea views.
