Family home in glorious grounds
Sleeps 12 persons - Saturday changeover
From its origins in medieval times as a site of Christian Pilgrimage "Our Lady at The Park" has evolved to the fine residence known today as Ladye Park. This beautiful country house is as steeped in history as it is in architectural beauty and is set in extensive grounds of lawns, woodland, stream, lake and includes a Grade 2 listed grotto with waterfall and crystal-clear pool known locally as the fountain of youth. The property has recently been acquired and extensively improved by its present owner, William Hunt, whose unique style and flair will be known to those familiar with the tailors of Savile Row and to golfing fans enthusiastic for the Trilby Tour of which he is the founder and patron. Perfect for those looking to escape to some tranquility and yet less than a 15 minute drive through beautiful Cornish country lanes to the beach, and within easy access of the many delights this part of Cornwall has to offer, Ladye Park has been lovingly styled to offer a unique, luxurious and secluded holiday home.
Furnished in a style appropriate to the age and architecture of the building the house provides accommodation for up to twelve arranged over three floors. The ground floor entrance hall leads to the large drawing room furnished in a country house style with a marble surround to the open fire, Chesterfield sofas and Broadwood grand piano. Across the hall from here is the dining room where the extendable, Georgian dining table provides for large group/family meals in elegant surroundings. The kitchen is modern with granite surfaces over beech units and features an oil-fired Aga plus all the appliances and utensils that you would expect in a home of this quality.
On the first floor there are five bedrooms, an en-suite king bedroom, a super-king leading to a single, a second en suite king room and a further single room. The family bathroom and separate shower room are also at this level. At the second floor level there are three further bedrooms, one king size double and two singles; William Hunt Savile Row 1000 count bed linens are used giving a real touch of luxury. Throughout the property there are interesting and sometimes quirky antique items of furniture and furnishings personally selected to enhance the intrinsic beauty of this delightful residence.
The garden and grounds are a joy to behold. Sweeping lawns lead to a large lake fed from a fast flowing stream which tumbles over a waterfall covered by a huge granite slab so creating an intriguing grotto. From Summer 2019 the lake will be swimmable and opportunities for walking, quiet reflection, outside dining etc are plentiful.
Just occasionally opportunities arise which are simply too good to ingore. Your chance to live the good life which Ladye Park offers is undoubtedly one.
Please note children must be accompanied at all times in the grounds; guests are welcome to enjoy the natural water features at their own risk.
