FOOD
Cornwall is renowned for its hospitality, and its pasties,
ice-cream and clotted cream teas, so eating out locally is never a
problem.
A warm welcome awaits you at many of the country pubs and
historic inns round about, but if you'd like a bit more variety, here are a few
suggestions:
- The shop on site, offers a
selection of everyday groceries and fresh local produce, and during high
season, fast food and takeaways are available from a mobile catering van
opposite.
- Many people bring their own barbecues along, or buy
disposable ones, and locally produced charcoal is sold in the
on-site shop.
- The local area can offer a
variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. Within
walking distance of the campsite there is a restaurant and fish and chip shop
in London Apprentice, and a pub, restaurant and tea shop in Pentewan.
- The nearest major supermarket is about 3 miles away in
St Austell, and in the opposite direction,
Megavissey is the place to go for a fish and chip
lunch or a cream tea.
- If you get really stuck, Ian and Angela are always on hand
to give some advice, or you can grab a 'Where To Eat Out' booklet from the
shop.
