The Ancient Shipbrokers sits in the centre of the lovely historic village of Pentewan overlooking the beautiful fresh water harbour and one of the best sandy beaches in Cornwall.
Please note that we are in an elevated position and walking to the amenities in our little village will involve some hills and/or steps.
Once the home of the Shipbroker who traded cargoes such as grain, tallow, timber, and china clay in the harbour, the house has a lot of history and has been decorated tastefully with colour and imagination to give a warm welcome. Double twin and family en-suite rooms are available.
Private parking is available onsite and in the village car park. Help with luggage is provided as part of our welcome. FREE wireless connection is provided. We have ample space for storing bicycles, surf boards and wetsuits.

The view from the Dining Room is spectacular, looking out across Pentewan Harbour and the beach, providing the perfect complement to our delicious home-cooked breakfasts. If you feel like a lazy day, why not just sit and relax in our pretty garden or on the deck whilst you decide what to do. Night time brings along different delights, especially when the moon is shining across the sea; perfect for those romantic evenings. We also see fabulous sunsets to the west over The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Views are panoramic, stretching from the village and harbour across the beach to Chapel Point at Portmellon. Be transported to a romantic era by the solid wooden antique furniture and pure cotton furnishings. Tea and coffee making facilities with a range of herbal teas and fresh biscuits each day make your stay comfortable.Wet towels are replaced daily or dried outdoors in the sea breezes at your request.

The Blue Room - Twin or Superking En-Suite Bedroom
Our "Blue Room" is spacious and can be used either as a twin room with 2 single beds or as a Superking double room.There is room for a cot with the double arrangement.
It has wide sweeping views of the beach ,sea cliffs and the beautiful agricultural landscape of fields rolling towards Heligan Gardens. Close to the village the boatyard and river you will be charmed by swans, ducks and herons flying past and fishermen preparing for nightime fishing on the beach.This tranquil and bright room has solid wooden furniture, attractive traditional antique mirrors and classic soft furnishings which welcome you in.

The Cream Room - Twin or Superking En-Suite Bedroom and Family Room
The "Cream Room" faces East and overlooks the village harbour the beach and sea. Wake up to the sun rising over the waves and cascading daylight through your windows. Watch the Mevagissey fishing boats at sea and swans swimming on the harbour from your bedside; if you are here in Spring or early Summer you will see their Signets falling in behind. This room can be arranged as a Superking bed or two 3 ft twin beds. There is plenty of room for a child's cot or extra single bed so that it can also be used as a family room. We have facilities for young children which include a travel cot, highchair and baby bath. We also have a 3 ft fold up bed to accommodate a third adult or child.

The coastal village of Pentewan
Pentewan is a small coastal village just 3 miles south of St Austell, which is situated at the north-eastern corner of the tri-angular "Roseland Peninsula", with St Mawes at the southern tip.

The Pentewan Cycle Trail way terminates in the village and cycle hire is available from March to October.
The village has its own diving school, pub, restaurant, shops, garage and post office, as well as a lovely tea-room in the village square, selling delicious home-made cakes. It is also well served by the local bus service, with a regular service to the neighbouring village of Mevagissey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Austell, The Eden Project, Charlstown and Fowey.
