Planning a visit
Soaring above the surrounding rooftops,
Truro Cathedral is located at the heart of this thriving Georgian
city and wonderfully situated in the middle of the Royal Duchy
of Cornwall.
The information below will help you to plan and make the most
of your visit.
|
| We are an active part of the community welcoming
people from all over the world, rather than simply a “heritage
tourist attraction”, so we feel it is important to ensure that
entry to this beautiful building is free. To help us maintain
the life of the cathedral so that we can welcome future generations,
perhaps you could have a coffee in our coffee shop, buy a guidebook
or make a donation in one of the boxes. It all helps us to balance
the books. |
| We really are in the centre of Truro, amidst
the bustle of the shops and restaurants. You can see our towers
from miles around. The city is well served by public transport.
There are regular bus and train services to Truro from around
Cornwall. There is even a passenger ferry service from Falmouth
and St Mawes. For visitors arriving by car there are a good
number of city centre car parks; follow the digital displays
for the places with most spaces. |
| The Shop has a wide range of guidebooks
for sale. Cathedral Stewards (wearing a sash) can help you with
any information enquiry you might have. There are Cathedral
Chaplains available throughout the day to help you with Spiritual
guidance or Confession. |
| Learn a little of the fascinating
history of the Cathedral from our experienced team of
Guides. |
 |
 |
| Mon-Thurs & Sat 11.00am, Fri
11.30am between April and October. |
 |
| Mon - Fri 2pm, week days, during
school holidays only. |
 |

Cathedral. Contact Bob Bates on 01872 276782. |

Our restaurant serves wholesome meals at
sensible prices, six days a week. Whether you want a hot meal, a
sandwich or simply a cup of tea and some homemade cake, the restaurant
is the place to come. You will find us in the Chapter House towards
the back of the building.
With all profits going to help the work of the
Cathedral, you will be supporting a good cause as you enjoy good
Cornish hospitality!
