History of Goonhilly
Orginally developed to track 'Telstar,' Goonhilly quickly grew into the worlds largest satllite earth station and
throughout its history brought us many historic visual images to our TV screens; including the moon
landings, the first 'live' Olympics,
the Eurovision song contest
and the original 'Live Aid'.
Although Goonhilly has now
downsized, it still carries
communications traffic via
its fibre optic cable routes
and visitors can
now take park in a
guided tour inside
our most famous
dish ' Arthur'.

Experience the Segway on and off-road
Discover the latest in futuristic personal transport, glide on your own Segway around our safe and secure trail.
New for 2009 and for the extra adventurous, experience the thrill of our Segway Safari, an off-road trail designed to test your balancing skills. Before taking part in the Safari tour, the on-road tour must first be completed. Full experience of both tours lasts approx. 2hrs.
Exclusive to Goonhilly, these tours offer a fun filled activity and each person recives a free certificate.
Tours are available on a first come, first served bases. The popular on-road tour lasts for approx. 40mins.
