Geevor Tin Mine

Geevor was the last working tin mine in West Penwith closing in 1990. Situated in a spectacular setting on cliffs above the Atlantic Ocean, the workings eventually stretched far out under the sea. Geevor is now the largest mining history site in the UK where visitors can follow the story of the mining and processing of tin.
There is a museum with a unique collection of mining artefacts, mineral displays and photographs of the mine and miners at work. The surface buildings house the magnificent winders and compressors.
Walk through the mill and see where the tin ore was processed to produce the tin concentrate that Geevor sold.

The underground tour with an expert guide will take you into the fascinating, long abandoned 18th century Wheal Mexico adit mine, which was rediscovered in 1995.

The café offers delicious home cooked food as well as one of the best views in Cornwall. In the mine shop visitors may purchase tin and pewter jewellery and gifts, mineral specimens, books on mining history and the local area and many locally produced goods.

Pricing: Please telephone or email.
10% discount for groups. Free entry to shop and café.
