There is a working harbour, and tiny cobbled streets to wander through, lined by fishermen's cottages, shops, restaurants and galleries.
Magnificent walks can be taken along the coastal footpath south towards Lelant with the opportunity to return by branch line train or west towards Zennor and Gurnards Head.
St Ives is renowned for its art and there are workshops, studios and galleries everywhere. Tate St. Ives, part of the Tate Gallery in London, is a stunning building with a varying exhibition of local and national works. Allied to Tate St Ives is the Barbara Hepworth Museum.
Enjoy the view across to Godrevy Lighthouse or even take a short boat trip to watch the seals basking on the rocks in the sunshine.
St Ives has plenty for young and old, summer or winter.

From Exeter you can choose from two major holiday routes to St Ives, the A30 and the A38.
The A30 will lead you across Bodmin Moor, and by taking the A38 route you will enter Cornwall across the Tamar Bridge in Plymouth. The roads are mainly dual carriageways.
Approximate driving time from Exeter is 2 hours
By Rail:
There is a good service from most major cities.
For St. Ives you will disembark just before the train goes on to Penzance, at St. Erth Station and from there take the St. Ives Branch Line which takes you approximately 15 minutes along magnificent coastline to enter St.Ives.
By Air:
Newquay Airport is just less than an Hour from St.Ives
