Local Area
The nearest coves are an easy walk – Porth Nanven lies at the bottom of the Cot Valley and is owned by the National Trust. The beach is of national geographical significance being one of the finest examples of a raised beach. Cape Cornwall has a rocky beach area still used by local fisherman.
Gwenver and Sennen are an hour's walk along the costal path or ten minutes by car. They provide a mile of golden sand and are well known for surfing, but are also ideal for families who want a day on the beach. Both are manned by lifeguards in the summer and Sennen has cafes, small shops restaurants and a pub. Close to Sennen is Lands End with its hotel and entertainment facilities.

Continuing past Sennen along the South Coast is the secluded sandy cove of Nanjizal, the attractive and quiet cove of Porthgwarra, the stunning, sandy beach of Porth Chapel and around the headland, past the Minack Theatre the large popular beach of Porthcurno.
Further along the coast and both worth a visit are the coves of Penberth and Lamorna. A little further along the south coast are the villages of Mousehole and Newlyn followed by the main town of the area, Penzance, with its beaches that run into the long sandy beach of Marazion. All this and still only seven miles from your holiday home!
The north coast has fewer beaches, but does have a spectacular coast. There is the sandy cove of Portheras the interesting village of Zennor and of course St Ives with its many beaches and facilities.
