Labour In Vain, St Ives is a traditional dog friendly, Cornish self catering cottage offering luxury spacious holiday accommodation in the heart of the beautiful old town of Downalong, St Ives. The cottage is a moment's walk from the shops, restaurants and award-winning beaches that St Ives has to offer. Labour in Vain has been designed to offer spacious, light and exceptionally comfortable family accommodation for up to seven guests with the added benefit a sunny courtyard and sea views. The perfect retreat for your self catering holiday in St Ives, Cornwall.
Labour In Vain is a family cottage which has been sensitively modernised with white painted beams and walls, discreet lighting and thick granite recesses. It has polished wooden floorboards throughout except the kitchen which has quarry tiles. It is approached via a suntrap pretty courtyard looking down Mount Zion, which is traffic free and leading down towards the harbour.

Accommodation - Sleeps 5-7
Ground Floor: Kitchen -Stable door into kitchen which has plenty of natural light & features a modern inset stainless steal round sink unit, range style cooker, microwave, fridge with small freezer, compact dishwasher, washer/dryer, ample work surfaces. Window seat. Original granite steps lead to the ground floor sitting room.
Ground Floor: Sitting Room - The original granite steps lead up to the light & airy sitting room which features comfortable corner sofa, an armchair and an oak coffee table. Original fireplace with hearth, window seat and deep recessed windows. Widescreen TV with Sky TV. Ornate spiral staircase leading to lower ground floor bedroom (care should be taken with children & infants around the spiral staircase).
Ground Floor: Sitting Room - The original granite steps lead up to the light & airy sitting room which features comfortable corner sofa, an armchair and an oak coffee table. Original fireplace with hearth, window seat and deep recessed windows. Widescreen TV with Sky TV. Ornate spiral staircase leading to lower ground floor bedroom (care should be taken with children & infants around the spiral staircase).
Ground Floor: Dining room - Light and airy with large sash window. Features a large oak dining table with seating for five, baby high chair, fireplace and sofa.
Lower Ground Floor: Games Room - Sofa, TV & dvd player (guests are welcome to bring along their games console with games & dvds). Multigame table featuring pool, hockey, table football, table tennis to name a few. Darts board. An ideal getaway for children & dads!. Original granite steps lead up to the sunny courtyard and offer an independent entrance to the cottage.
Lower Ground Floor: Games Room - Sofa, TV & dvd player (guests are welcome to bring along their games console with games & dvds). Multigame table featuring pool, hockey, table football, table tennis to name a few. Darts board. An ideal getaway for children & dads!. Original granite steps lead up to the sunny courtyard and offer an independent entrance to the cottage.
First Floor: Bedroom 1 - Ornate double bed, views of Porthminster beach. Chest of drawers, built in wardrobe/hanging cupboard, ornate mirror, bedside cabinet.
First Floor: Bedroom 2 - Ornate single 3’ bed, large wardrobe with shelves, bedside cabinet.
First Floor: Bedroom 3 - Ornate 5’ double bed, window seat with delightful distant view of the harbour, built in wardrobe/handing cupboard, chest of drawers, airing cupboard with shelving, cosy chair, fireplace, bedside cabinet.
First Floor: Bathroom - Bath with shower attachment, wash hand basin and WC, ample storage cupboards, heated towel rail.
First Floor: Bedroom 2 - Ornate single 3’ bed, large wardrobe with shelves, bedside cabinet.
First Floor: Bedroom 3 - Ornate 5’ double bed, window seat with delightful distant view of the harbour, built in wardrobe/handing cupboard, chest of drawers, airing cupboard with shelving, cosy chair, fireplace, bedside cabinet.
First Floor: Bathroom - Bath with shower attachment, wash hand basin and WC, ample storage cupboards, heated towel rail.
Courtyard - With seating area, perfect for sitting in the sunshine having afternoon tea or an evening glass of wine. There is a washing line for hanging up wetsuits and an area for storing surfboards!

Labour In Vain self catering cottage is located on a no-through quite road in the heart of Downalong with easy access by car.
Access by car - The nearest car park is Island Car-Park approx 100 metres away. Alternatively St Ives has a park and ride with parking at Lelant Saltings railway station.
Amenities - The nearest supermarket (Tesco) is located 1 mile away. Alternativly there is a Co-op in town. St Ives shops, restaurants and amenities are within a couple of minutes walk.
Beaches - The nearest beaches are Porthgwidden, Porthmeor and The Harbour all located between 200-400 metres away.
Access by car - The nearest car park is Island Car-Park approx 100 metres away. Alternatively St Ives has a park and ride with parking at Lelant Saltings railway station.
