About Us

Trewinnard Farm has seen many changes through the years. We have been the privileged owners since 1967 and having farmed livestock of all shapes and temperaments, and run a daffodil farm of 70 acres we now grow crops and enjoy countryside living.

It is private and quiet here. Approached by a long drive through our farmland, it is tucked away in what seems like a different world although it is actually only four miles from the towns of Penzance and St Ives and even less from the beautiful sandy beaches of the North and South Coasts.

Close by, there is so much to do at any time of year. The property offers many wonderful farm and river walks and because the Gulf Stream treats West Cornwall to such a mild climate, there is an abundance of plant and animal life to enjoy. There are cycle paths, golf courses, horse-riding stables and surfing schools, houses, gardens, coastal paths and heritage sites to cite but a few.

Many of our guests come back again and again – once discovered, Trewinnard is a treat that is rarely forgotten.

The Cottages

Each of the Trewinnard Cottages is unique, with charming characteristics that make them memorable as well as comfortable and while each one is independently perfect for a family, the arrangement is also ideally suited to larger family groups; for instance the Granary table can seat up to 8-10 people if two families combine for meals.

Thoughtfully converted to create spacious accommodation while losing nothing of their original charm, each property has something distinctive to offer and with central heating available and solid fuel stoves, they are just as special for an out-of-season escape as they are for a summer adventure.

All the cottages are fully equipped with the appropriate appliances and they all have patio furniture. Cots and high chairs are available and bed linen is provided but please bring towels. You will receive a Welcome tray on your arrival and can be assured of our best attention throughout your stay.

The Granary - Sleeps 4 (+2 single futons)
Recently restored, this listed barn has beautiful reverse level accommodation. The large living space is entirely open plan with a vaulted ceiling and incorporates a large kitchen area with a Rayburn, together with sitting/dining space and study. The dining table will sit up to 8-10 people. Downstairs is a double bedroom with a beautiful feature window, an L-shaped twin bedroom and bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Wide steps lead up from the parking area outside where you can sit and enjoy the view.
Flower House - Sleeps 4 (+1 single futon)
As its name suggests, this was once the packing facility for the thousands of flowers that were grown here. Recently restored, it is now a single storey conversion that offers spacious open plan living accommodation, a separate small lobby housing the washing machine next to the bathroom with a shower over the bath. The double and twin rooms both have plenty of space and storage. The windows look out onto a bridle path.
Parlour Cottage - Sleeps 4 (+2 single futons)
No longer used to milk cows twice daily, this conversion overlooks a grassy courtyard area and offers comfortable single storey accommodation. It has a separate kitchen and a large, open plan sitting/dining area, with steps up to the double and large twin bedrooms. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over.
Farm Cottage - Sleeps 4 (+ 2 single futons)
The original 15th century farmhouse, this pretty, whitewashed cottage with its dark wood furniture and narrow stairs is very cosy but by no means small. It has an attractive kitchen diner and separate sitting room, a long corridor upstairs, with built in wardrobes along, a large double and twin bedroom with sloping ceilings and a bathroom with a bath and shower attachment. Outside the front door is a pretty courtyard, which is very sheltered and a real sun-trap.
Barn Cottage - Sleeps 4 (+ 2 single futons)
Set on one side of a large, grassy courtyard, this spacious cottage is open plan with a large farmhouse kitchen/dining area, complete with Rayburn and quarry tiles at one end and a comfy lounge with a beautiful granite fireplace at the other. The stairs lead up to a landing with balconied doors that overlook the courtyard and two large bedrooms – a double and a twin – with windows looking out over open countryside. There is plenty of storage including a large airing cupboard and the bathroom has a bath with a shower over.
