| We overlook the fabulous white sand beach at Sennen
with views of Longships Lighthouse and the Scilly Isles. It is a safe
5 minutes walk, down through the sand dune valley, to both the beach
and the coastal footpath. Atlantic Lodge is an ideal place for a beach
holiday, for walking the coast or to explore western Cornwall. Penzance,
the Tate at St. Ives, the Minack Theatre, St. Michaels Mount, the
Scilly Isles and Lands End are all close at hand. Alternatively Atlantic
Lodge with its spacious accommodation, views and extensive gardens
can be used to simply relax. |
| Atlantic Lodge was built by the artist Harry Welch.
The original house, Victoria, was constructed in the 1890's
and then Edward was added during the early twentieth century.
Many of the original features still remain. The house forms two separate
dwellings, Victoria offering accommodation for up to ten people, and
Edward which accommodates six. |
| These properties can be joined together to provide
spacious accommodation for sixteen people. Occasional beds and a cot
are also available. |

| The living accommodation for Edward is primarily
located on the first floor, which affords excellent views over Sennen
Cove and its beach to Longships lighthouse and the Scilly Isles. |
| Edward has recently been refurbished with full
central heating and offers very spacious accommodation including one
double and two twin bedrooms, all with their own en-suites. One of
the twin bedrooms is on the ground floor. There is a very large living
area which has fabulous views of Sennen Cove. This large room has
several chairs and sofas, a dining table seating six people and a
well equipped kitchen area. |

| So that the views of the Scillies and Sennen Cove
can best be appreciated, this is reverse style accommodation, with
the kitchen-dining area and the lounge on the first floor and most
bedrooms downstairs. |
| The entrance hall to Victoria has the original
Victorian tiled floor. On the ground floor is the master bedroom with
ensuite and king size bed. There is a second double bedroom and a
bunk bedroom. The extra fifth bedroom which can also be booked with
Victoria is on this level. The utility room houses the washing machine
and tumble drier, in addition to a sink and separate WC. From here
there is access to the back garden. |
| Facilities |
| The kitchen is very well equipped, with a dining
table to seat eight. Two extra dining chairs are provided. The kitchen
has fine views of the coast as it is on the first floor. Also on the
first floor the main bathroom has a wash hand basin, bath and separate
shower. There is also a separate toilet. The lounge has plenty of
comfortable seating and an open fireplace. The open fire is set for
bookings during October - March. The first basket of fuel is provided,
with more available for an additional charge. |

| The Area |
| Beautiful walks can be taken in almost any direction,
via a myriad of different footpaths; morning walks across the valley
to collect the newspaper, whilst evening walks to Escalls (15 mins)
provide an ideal spot to watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean.
There is also a cycle route taking you to Lands End. |
| As Sennen is an excellent area for surfing and
bodyboarding, a surf school is located at the beach and is very popular
with people of all ages. The beach is safe and gently shelving, with
lifeguards present throughout the summer months. Beautiful Gwynver
beach is also within walking distance from Atlantic Lodge. |
| General Information |
| Ample parking is available within the grounds
of the property. The grounds are extensive and secluded, containing
an increasingly diverse collection of plants that can be grown in
this area, such as agapanthus, canna lilies and echiums. Alongside
the small streams in the lower garden, the owners of the property
have recently planted a small orchard and exotic plants. There is
also a barbecue area and several seating areas within the grounds.
Both Victoria and Edward have mobile barbecues for al fresco dining.

| There are shared storage facilities for both wetsuits
and body boards in the separate barn. There is also a hose for sandy
people and a dunking bin for wetsuits. There is an area specifically
suited for wetsuit drying in addition to the whirly clotheslines.

| Atlantic Lodge is let from Saturday to Saturday
with guests arriving after 4.00pm and leaving by 10.00am. All linen
is supplied, but please do bring your own beach towels. Electricity
is included in the booking fee. Unfortunately we do not accept pets.
