Accommodation:
Hellanowe has recently been refurbished with the intention to
remove the typical caravan look. The entrance door leads into
a fully equipped galley kitchen with gas cooker, and fridge.
The bathroom is leading off to the right and has the usual wash
basin, toilet and shower. There is a dining area with extendable
table and five chairs in the sitting room which has acquired
a cheerful modem look. It has a TV and radio and a gas fire
that will keep you warm on cool evenings. Two bedrooms, one
with a double bed and the other with three beds accommodate
a family with three children. Outside there is a garden area
with table and chairs and a BBQ. The caravan looks out over
fields with grazing sheep and horses on one side and is bordered
by small woodland on the other. Its secluded position on its
own in a beautiful valley on a country lane makes it quite unique
and is ideal for those seeking a quiet situation but want to
be close to the beaches.
Local
Area:
Hellanowe is close to the pretty village ofGwithian with its
ancient church and old thatched Methodist chapel dating from
the 15th century. There is a popular pub serving good food and
a lively recently opened bar/restaurant with live music at week-ends.
Several more restaurants and cafes at Godrevy and Gwithian beach
and two surf shops and surf schools provide just about everything
you may need close by. Learn to surf or just play in the waves
and enjoy a barbeque on the beach while watching the sun set
in the sea. High dunes provide the back drop for 3 miles of
golden sandy beach at Gwithian while Godrevy with its light
house offers small sandy coves and high cliffs which are ablaze
with wild flowers in the spring. Seals are frequently seen here
and even dolphins have been sighted. The nearby town of Hayle
is just 10 minutes away by car with supermarkets, pubs and restaurants
and take-aways. The main A30 road can be picked up here giving
access to all other parts of Cornwall. Penzance with air/sea
links to the Isles of Scilly is only another 15 minutes away.
The lovely old fishing village of St. Ives with narrow streets
and a Mediterranean feel can be reached by car in 20 minutes
or use the "Park and Ride" from Leiant and take the train that
runs along the picturesque coastline overlooking St. Ives Bay.
