Enjoying superb views of the wild
Atlantic and the serenity of the Vale of Lanherne, Blue Bay
Hotel offers the visitor the very best Cornwall has to offer.
Located halfway up the hill from Mawgan
Porth beach means unrivalled coastal or country walks begin
at the doorstep. With Padstow only a fifteen minute drive
to the north, Newquay with its nightlife a fifteen minute
drive to the south and the moors surrounding Bodmin to the
east, the Hotel is ideally situated at the centre of any Cornish
experience.
Small family run hotels are a dying breed
in Cornwall, but with three generations of genuine hospitality
in the family, James and Pippa are determined not to let the
corporates take over. You'll still be greeted with warm smiles,
a whistling kettle and Patty-dog wagging her tail with glee
at your arrival.
Dogs
Dogs are still very welcome at the hotel and the lodges and
Mawgan Porth remains one of the few dog-friendly beaches on
the north coast.
The Food
James won't let his well known standards
slip and there is a new menu celebrating
fresh local and organic products, a wine
list to complement your evening meal as
well as fantastic value for money. The
restaurant is now open to the public.
We think you'll not find a better three-course
meal in the vicinity and are proud to
out-cook our competitors and we have been
rewarded for our efforts with an RAC fine
dining award grade 1.
The Location
It may be obvious, but we retain our beautiful position overlooking
the golden sands, turquoise seas and scarlet sunsets of Mawgan
Porth, up where the gulls glide and rooks tumble. The lodges,
hotel lounge, restaurant and most of the rooms continue to
enjoy the wonderful panorama of the north Cornwall coastline.
It is our heartfelt intention that your
stay with us will be one you'll want to re-live year after
year and that you'll become a part of the Blue Bay's extended
family.
