| A Warm Welcome Awaits
You |
 |
| Welcome to
our lovely converted barn offering bed &
breakfast accommodation, set in magnificent
rural countryside. This quiet, idyllic converted
barn 'The Dry' was originally part of the
Wheal Sisters tin mine workings, all the tin
mine workings had a 'dry' ; this is where
the miners, after a long days work, went to
wash and get ready to go home, whilst washing
they would lay their wet clothes over the
warm pipes to dry; hence the name given to
the building. This part of the southwest is
steeped in tin mining history. In the immediate
vicinity besides the historical tin mining
buildings, there are beautiful rural country
walks with plenty of flora and fauna to see.
The Dry is situated down a quite country lane
3 miles from St. Ives, 5
miles from Penzance and 4 miles
from Hayle, which is well known for
its beautiful 3 miles of golden sandy beaches.
Down this end of the Southwest there is sea
and fresh water fishing, golfing, horse riding,
kite surfing, surfing, windsurfing, children's
play zones, theme parks and if you are up
to it plenty of night life in the local towns...
The list is endless. |
