The house itself is full of character, with many original features still in place. The main section was built some time in the mid - late 1600's, a mixture of granite, slate, and whatever other stone was to hand being used for the walls on the ground floor, cob ( mud, straw and hair etc ) on the first floor, with several extensions added over the centuries, none less than a couple of hundred years ago. All bedrooms ( two doubles and one twin ) are of a good size, and are surprisingly light and airy ( unusual for a property of this age ), are furnished to a high standard with very comfortable beds and antique furniture, and have their own en-suite bath or shower room, tv and tea-making facilities. Breakfast and evening meals are served in the slate-floored, stone-walled dining room. This room also doubles as the guests' lounge, with several comfortable arm chairs and antique wooden chairs to choose from, the large, welcoming wood burner being lit most evenings from the Autumn through to Spring. Weather permitting, you are also welcome to eat out in the garden. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have; we look forward to welcoming you to our home.
