Two oast houses at Sissinghurst Castle, Kent
On the DT Seven Sisters tour (7 nights). Hundreds of these round towers with conical roofs and windvanes were built in Kent and East Sussex to roast hops for the brewing industry. Many have been demolished or converted to dwellings, but these two have been conserved in their original condition by the National Trust. Also on this site is the famous garden designed by Vita Sackville-West.
