Welcome to trout fishing with South West Water. The range of fishing we offer ensures excellent sport for all anglers. Our Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout waters are amongst the best in the west. Natural and free wilderness sites offer an inexpensive day in beautiful countryside. Fly fishing is the rule at our top stocked fisheries but other waters have areas designated for other fishing methods.

Permit Concessions - Who is entitled?

  • Day Concessions
    - Old Age Pensioners; Recipients of State Disability Pension;
    - Recipients of State Mobility Allowance;
    - Full-Time Students under 18
  • Child Concessions
    - Children under 16 years
  • Wheelchair Concessions
    - Wheelchair bound bank angler
  • Parent and Child
    - Under 14's accompanied by a parent may fish for free
    and share their parent's bag limit.


Facilities for Disabled Anglers

There are toilet facilities for disabled anglers at Siblyback, Argal, and Colliford. Most of the major stocked fisheries have bank access for wheelchairs and Wheelie boats, which must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Boat Fishing

Boats, providing a loch-style alternative to bank angling, are available at major sites on most days.

Season Permits

We sell Season Permits for most of our Trout Fisheries. A Castabout permit, enabling anglers to fish most of our low cost Natural Trout Fisheries is also available.

STOCKED RAINBOW TROUT

ARGAL Nr Penryn, Cornwall

This low-lying water produces consistently good catches. Boats are available including a Wheelie Boat for the disibled. Rainbow trout are stocked frequently to ensure consistent catches. Details of the adjacent College reservoir in our Coarse Fisheries leaflet.

LOW COST RAINBOW TROUT

SIBLYBACK LAKE Nr Liskeard, Cornwall

At this low-cost Rainbow trout water we also include number of large trout giving anglers the opportunity of catching first class size fish at budget prices. Boats can be booked 24 hours in advance at the Watersports Centre

BROWN TROUT

COLLIFORD LAKE Nr Bodmin, Cornwall

This lake offers low priced traditional fly fishing for natural Brown Trout. It is Cornwall's premier brown trout water. Fishing is bank side only and wading is not advisable.

LOW COST 'NATURAL' TROUT

STITHIANS Nr Redruth, Cornwall
Tbis majestic water, one of England's most westerly trout fisheries, has brown trout stocked as fry, augmented by takeable runbow and brown trout. Fisbing is mainly bank side and zoned into fly and all methods. Limited boats bookable 24 hours in advance at the Watersports Centre

CROWDY RESERVOIR Nr Camelford, Cornwall

This moorland trout water has brown trout stocked as fry, supplemented by rainbow trout of catchable size. The fisbing is zoned into fly and all methods, bank only.

LOWER TAMAR LAKE Nr Bude, Cornwall

Lower Tamar Lake offers bankside fly fishing for rainbow trout. Upper Tamar Lake is now a Premier Class coarse fishery, with fly fishing available for residual trout stocks.
