An Chy Coth ('The Old House' in Cornish) is a recently renovated 17th century Grade 2 listed (non-smoking) house in the centre of the fishing village of Flushing, situated near the waterfront on Falmouth Harbour. Local pubs which serve meals and a restaurant on the village quay are within walking distance.

There are two attractive, well furnished bedrooms (double room with king size bed and single room with additional pull-out bed suitable for children), both with en suite showers, White Company towels and Crabtree & Evelyn soap. Bedrooms are reached by stairs on the upper floor of the house, accessed directly from the front entrance and separate from the rest of the house, ensuring privacy. Fairtrade organic tea and coffee are provided in the rooms with Cornish mineral water. Breakfast is served in the large family kitchen/dining room with bacon & eggs or scrambled eggs with organic smoked salmon cooked on the Aga, along with fresh fruit and yogurt. Wherever possible, organic produce is used and free range eggs.

Flushing is situated opposite Falmouth on one of the largest natural harbours in the world, ideal for sailing, and in an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are country walks from the village, and the local ferry docks in Falmouth only a short walk from the National Maritime Museum, also connecting to other passenger ferry services to St Mawes, Truro and the National Trust's Trelissick Gardens. By road, only the most distant parts of the county are more than an hour's drive, and the Eden Project near St Austell and the Tate Gallery at St Ives are all easily reached.

Directions

Flushing is a twenty minute drive on the A39 from Truro taking the route to Falmouth, following the signs to Mylor Bridge and then to Flushing. Drive down a steep hill into the centre of the village, turning left at the bottom into Kersey Road and we are a few houses up the street on the right. The house is easy to recognise although there is no sign outside, but there are four large bollards on the pavement outside the front door. There is also a train service from London Paddington to Truro, linking with a branch line to Falmouth. A regular passenger ferry runs between Flushing and Falmouth.
