Location and Attractions

Set a quarter of a mile off the A39 just outside Wadebridge, Lavender Cottage is ideally situated for exploring Bodmin Moor, the north coast of Cornwall and the major attractions of the Eden Project, Heligan and National Trust properties. Walking, bird watching, golf and cycling are also very popular, with sailing, wind-surfing and many excellent beaches close by.

Wadebridge (1 mile) offers a supermarket (10 minute walk from the cottage), garage, doctors surgery, dentists, laundrette, cinema, banks, chemists and restaurants. It also has a new leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, and is the ideal place to hire bikes to ride the Camel Trail.

Padstow (8 miles), home of Rick Stein's famous fish restaurant, has many interesting shops, pubs and eating places.

Golf is available at many courses, including St Kew, Roserrow, St Enodoc, Lanhydroc and Trevose, with tennis and swimming at Wadebridge. You can obtain fishing permits for salmon and sea trout, hire bikes to cycle the Camel Trail and go bird watching along the estuary, a 10 minute walk from the cottage.
