St
Ives is described by many as the most beautiful seaside town in the British
Isles; it has been voted 'The Best UK Seaside Resort' by the British Heritage
Magazine and is one of only two members of the prestigious 'Most Beautiful
Bays in the World' organisation. With its four beaches of soft golden sand,
sparkling blue waters, picturesque fishing harbour and quaint narrow streets,
St Ives is a firm favourite to which many return year after year.

Away
from the beaches, there is a wide range of quality shops in the town as well
as restaurants and cafe bars to suit every pocket and taste. Museums and art
galleries are everywhere reflecting the town's international importance as
home to some of the great artists and sculptors of our time. Tate St Ives,
part of the Tate Gallery in London, stands high above magnificent Porthmeor
Beach and frequently has exhibitions by local artists while the Barbara Hepworth
Museum and Bernard Leach Pottery are both in the town.
