Centrally
situated between St Ives, Hayle and Penzance, Rose Cottage is set in a
small hamlet on the edge of National Trust owned Trencrom Hill, surrounded
by farmland, wonderful for exploring on foot, by car or on horseback.
A few minutes walk to the top of this Iron Age fortress hill top will reward you with breathtaking views over the peninsular to St Michaels Mount on the south coast and Godrevy Lighthouse on the north coast. The Old Mill Riding Stable is at the bottom of the hill, and across the valley is the West Cornwall Golf Club. To the east near Hayle is the most southerly of English tidal estuaries, visited annually by thousands of birds - making it a Must for 'Twitchers'. St Ives (5 miles): Picturesque harbour, safe beaches, cobbled streets, excellent restaurants and numerous galleries including the Tate St Ives. Several pubs have live music. The town also has a Disco, Theatre, Cinema, Craft Market, Museum, Indoor Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre. Hayle (5 miles): A rich history of tin industry and a once thriving Foundry, three miles of golden sand, dunes and coastal paths, fabulous surfing, a tidal Estuary RSPB bird reserve, and conservation zoo Paradise Park. Penzance (6 miles): Bustling market town with a fine promenade, yacht club and windsurfing. Host to the West Cornwall Maritime Festival and with easy access to the sub tropical gardens of the Scilly Isles from its heliport or Ferry terminal. The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the spectacular open air Minnack Theatre on the cliff edge at Porthcurno are just a few of the delights a little further afield. |
