To take full advantage
of the stunning sea views, the upstairs of the house has been converted
into a large open plan living area with a wide, floor to ceiling window.
This impressively large loft-style lounge has four large couches, a wooden
floor, dining area, study and woodburner stove (plus central heating). By
far the most stunning feature of the house is the panoramic view from this
room across Porthmeor beach, the coast around Hayle and beyond to Trevose,
old St Ives, the Tate Gallery and, to the West, open Atlantic. Seals and
dolphins regularly pop into sight whilst fishing boats appear at the end
of the road.
Porthmeor beach is just a five-minute walk, past pitch and putt golf and
the bowling green. Just beyond, past the Tate Gallery, is the town with
its pretty harbour, cobbled streets and cosmopolitan range of restaurants,
bars, galleries and shops. All of St Ives' attractions are within a ten-minute
walk from the house.
A few steps from the house is the Cornish Coastal footpath through National
Trust land to Clodgy Point and Zennor.
Downstairs, Velnoweth has three large bedrooms, sleeping a total of six/seven
(plus cot). The main bedroom has a super-king size double bed and a fantastic
sea view, enjoyable from the bed. Bedroom two has bunk beds and a sea view.
Bedroom three is another double room. A single sofabed is available for
a seventh person if required. The house has a large kitchen (another sea
view!) with island gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, large
fridge freezer and adjoining dining area with large farmhouse table and
six chairs. (Upstairs there is another dining table with six chairs). There
is a modern family bathroom with shower, and two separate WC's. A large
utility room houses a washing machine, sink and plenty of drying space.
The house is decorated and furnished to a high standard along with
SKY TV, VCR and CD/radio/cassette, videos, CD's, books, recent magazines,
fresh flowers, etc. There is central heating.
Outside is a suntrap patio area, plus a further patio with dining table
and gas BBQ and three separate lawned areas. All are quiet and private.
There is a large children's playhouse and swings. The private parking area
will accommodate several cars.
