Bunkers Cott is a Grade II listed two bedroomed former fisherman's cottage conveniently located in Bunkers Hill. Just 50m from the harbour front, 150m from Porthmeor surf beach and 200m from the Tate Gallery makes this an ideal retreat during any time of the year.
Whether you're looking for sun, sand and surf or to simply relax and enjoy the al fresco style restaurants situated along the harbour front, St Ives is a favourite destination for couples and families of all ages. St Ives is also a great base for exploring the rest of the Southwest region. 30 minutes from Newquay and only an hour from the famous Eden project along with numerous National Trust homes including St Michael's Mount in Marazion and stunning gardens like The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Accommodation
Bunkers Cott is accessed from Bunkers Hill up a small flight of steps and has a shared entrance porch. The front door opens into an airy lounge/diner with a Bernard Leach feature fireplace. There is a TV with freesat and a DVD/CD player. There is a fully fitted galley kitchen with electric oven and halogen hob, integrated dishwasher and larder fridge/freezer. There is a cloakroom off the kitchen area.
The cottage style stairs (some restricted head height applies) wind up to the first floor which leads to the front bedroom. This has a double bed, bedside tables, built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers. Its window seat allows you a great vantage point to sit and look out over the rooftops to the harbour, Smeaton's Pier and far reaching views across St Ives Bay to Gwithian. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room and this is modern and well equipped. The second bedroom has a single bed and has room for a travel cot should you wish to accommodate a little one.
Due to its proximity to the harbour, Bunkers Cott does not have its own parking. There is road access to pull up outside the property for loading and unloading and there are numerous pay and display car parks situated throughout the town with both long and short stay tariffs. During peak weeks the car parks can become congested, if you are travelling by car, it is advisable to opt for the park and ride at the top of the town by the leisure centre or alternatively, there is a park and train on the outskirts of St Ives.
