The
Location
|
|
Quietly
situated in the tranquil village of Tregrehan Mills, with its stream
running down through the valley, these delightful cottages are believed
to be over 200 years old. This is probably one of the finest locations
for those wishing to explore the quaint fishing villages and the
magnificent coastline of Cornwall, steeped in smuggling folklore.
Tregrehan
is ideally situated to suit all tastes. From the cottage, there
are a number of safe sandy beaches to explore, all within easy reach.
To the east of the village is the ancient town of Fowey full of
colour and character with its narrow streets, craft shops and excellent
restaurants. It is also a popular stopping off point for cruising
yachts, a place not to be missed!
To
the south of the village lies Charlestown, a picturesque working
little harbour with its ‘Tall Ships’. Charlestown also has a Ship
Wreck Centre, Fish Smoker and Pottery. To the west of the village
lies Mevagissey, an historical old fishing village. There are several
old pubs around the harbour, plenty of good places to eat with seafood
being a speciality and an abundance of gift and souvenir shops.
The now famous ‘Lost Gardens of Heligan’ are just beyond the village.
The world renowned 'Eden Project' is only five minutes away, a must
for visitors to the UK, let alone Cornwall.
