| ST. MAWES | ||||||||
| St. Mawes is a picturesque waterside fishing village on the unspoilt Roseland Peninsula offering safe sandy beaches, boating, fishing, walks, and fine sailing waters. Small shops, pubs and restaurants nestle around the harbour. Many of our out-of-season visitors to St. Mawes are writers or artists, who come here to work in beautiful and sub-tropical surroundings. A magnificent King Henry VIII Castle is on the headland at St. Mawes. It stands in sub-tropical gardens displaying its 16th Century Tudor architecture and atmosphere. A year round passenger ferry service runs to Falmouth, and many boat and fishing trips are on offer. A variety of beaches and walks of the Peninsula are within easy reach. The King Harry Car Ferry is a convenient way to visit Truro. |

| ST JUST IN ROSELAND | ||||||||
| St. Just in Roseland is 2 ˝ miles from St. Mawes and is one of the jewels of Cornwall. Of the little church situated amongst camellias and hydrangeas right by the water, Betjeman wrote, “to many people the most beautiful churchyard on earth”. This is a very peaceful area, within easy reach of the whole of the Roseland Peninsula and its wealth of safe sandy beaches and walks. Within easy reach are St. Mawes, Veryan, Portscatho, Philleigh, and the beaches of Carne, Pendower, Porthcurnick, and many more. The King Harry Ferry across the river to Feock and Truro is 3 miles. |

| GORRAN HAVEN | ||||||||
| A
little further up the coast is Gorran Haven. Set around the village beach,
Gorran Haven is one of Cornwall's unspoilt fishing villages which retains
its real character - very picturesque. The little road winds into the village
and straight down to the beach, passing clusters of white painted cottages
and little cobbled footpaths. In Gorran Haven there is a restaurant, and a general store/post office, which sells just about everything including freshly baked bread and pasties. There is a good pub on the edge of the village. Other little shops appear in the summer. Gorran Haven has lovely scenery and coastal walks. It is near Mevagissy and not far from The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. |

| TRURO | ||||||||
| The name Truro comes from Tri-Veru meaning 3 rivers. The Cornish are rightly proud of their beautiful historic Cathedral City capital. It is a thriving small City with an excellent assortment of shops and amenities. The waterways of Truro come into view all over the City, especially whilst exploring the alleyways (known as opes). Train station with a local branch line to Falmouth running through Perranwell. Beautiful surrounding area with rivers, creeks and Cornish villages. Truro is about 50 miles from Lands End. There are scheduled helicopter flights to The Isles of Scilly from Penzance. |

||||||||
| PERRANWELL | ||||||||
| Perranwell is tucked away in lanes about half way between Truro and Falmouth. A ‘Proper Cornish Village’, with Post Office/stores and an excellent pub. Streams run through the village, and two of our houses have them running by the gardens. Two sailing schools are in the area and there are several good golf courses. The wonderful long sandy surf beaches of the north coast are about 20 minutes away, and the softer south coast beaches and sailing areas are roughly 15 minutes. The coast to coast cycle path goes through Perranwell, so bring your bikes if you like cycling. Perranwell is a very good base for exploring the delights of the rest of West Cornwall. A branch line train, which runs between Truro and Falmouth, stops at Perranwell, so if you decide to leave your car at home, you can still explore Cornwall. |

School located at Loe Beach is excellent for children. The National Trust
gardens of Trelissick and the King Harry Ferry are at Feock, and the area
is a wonderful setting for artists, walkers and birdwatchers.
Restronguet Creek is the largest of the creeks, and a haven for sheltered boating and birdlife. The famous Pandora Inn is to be found on the Mylor side of this Creek. The Punchbowl and Ladle provides good meals, and is open all year round. |

The town centre with its charming long narrow main street has some fine
listed buildings, restaurants and shops. There is a selection of safe beaches

The yacht harbour offers sailing tuition and boat hire. Mylor Village is at the head of Mylor Creek, with local shops and a good pub. You can set off on costal walks from here - many pass a waterside cafe or pub, including the famous Pandora Inn on Restronguet Creek. 3 miles from Falmouth and 6 miles from Truro. |

| FLUSHING | ||||||||
| Flushing
is a stunningly picturesque waterside village on the opposite shores to
Falmouth. It is calm and tranquil with a fine restaurant, two pubs and a
Post Office/village stores. A regular ferry runs to and from Falmouth, from
where you can join the network of expeditions by boat all around the Falmouth
Bay and estuary. Flushing is popular with boating enthusiasts, and is also
a haven for those wishing to find a small peaceful village, where it is
possible to imagine the Cornwall of yesteryear. Flushing is popular with
walkers, artists, writers and nature-lovers. The evening sun on the water
at Flushing, highlighting the colourful boats on the water, is quite magnificent.
There is a really good grassy playground on the hill at Flushing called "The Bowling Green". It is only a short walk from Quay Cottage. The views from up there are very good, and there are places to picnic. |
