Porthallow, situated on the South
Coast near the Helford river and Helston is a small
village with a nice pub (The Five Pilchards), a café
and a few shops. Once a fishing village, Porthallow
still has smaller fishing boats that are winched up
the shelving beach as there is no harbour to give protection
from occasional strong easterly winds. There are some
excellent walks around Porthallow particularly around
to Mannaccan, Gillan, Flushing, St Anthony, Frenchman’s
Creek and Helford giving wonderful views out across
Falmouth bay.
Little Pengarrock is perfectly situation
for a romantic or activity based Cornish coastal retreat,
set above the village of Porthallow overlooking the
beach and out to sea over the expanse of Falmouth bay.
The property enjoys a high degree of tranquillity in
the privacy of its garden of approximately 1 acre in
one of Cornwall’s most picturesque locations. The area
has everything for those who enjoy walking, sailing
(the Helford Estuary with its numerous creeks is just
to the north), wildlife or those who are just happy
to enjoy the spectacular views. Everyday needs are catered
for in the nearby village of Porthallow including a
village shop and pub (The Five Pilchards) or 1 ½ miles
away at the larger village of St Keverne. Helston the
historic market town is approximately 12 miles away
and includes a full range of shops and supermarkets
including Tescos. If you feel the need to explore, Mullion
Cove, Kennack Sands, Kynance Cove, Coverack and the
Helford River are all within easy distance.
