Welcome to the Green Door Cottages

You can be sure of a wonderful time at the Green Door Cottages and Tregudda Apartments - nestling in the beautiful, secluded cove of Port Gaverne, close to the ancient North Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac.

Port Gaverne, and much of the surrounding countryside, is owned and administered by the National Trust - an oasis of tranquility, well off the beaten track, with fabulous walks and one of the most spectacular coastlines in the country.

The beach is great for families, with excellent, safe swimming in crystal clear waters and lots of rock pools and caves to explore. Our local, the Port Gaverne Hotel, dates back to the 17th century and specialises in local produce, particularly sea food. Choose from the bar menu and have it delivered to your door!

Port Gaverne is a truly unique location, perfect for a relaxing holiday break at any time of year.

Green Door Cottages is a delightful collection of restored 18th century Cornish buildings, including cottages and a traditional cob barn originally used by local fishermen. All the accommodation is self-contained on one or two storeys and built around a sunny enclosed courtyard garden.

Tregudda Apartments - two lovely, self-contained apartments in an elevated position, with fabulous views over the cove and Port Isaac Bay.

  Green Door Cottages - Relax in style








Each cottage is attractively and comfortably furnished with Victorian pine and original paintings.

Marigold, Torca and Courtyard - each sleeps 4 (1 double bedroom, 1 twin).

Each cottage has two storeys, set out 'upside-down'. Slate steps lead to the front entrance and into a sunny open-plan living/dining/kitchen room with beamed ceilings and a wood burning stove. You look onto the courtyard garden on one side and a country lane on the other. Stairs take you down to the bathroom and the bedrooms which look out onto the courtyard garden. Each cottage has a patio door from one of the bedrooms leading directly into the garden. There is parking in the private car park nearby.

Please note: Marigold is slightly bigger than Torca and Courtyard.


Shrub - sleeps 4 (1 double, 2 single bedrooms).

Slate steps lead down to a Victorian entrance porch (great for storing wet suits and wellies). There is an open-plan living/dining/kitchen room downstairs with traditional beamed ceiling, a wood burning stove and walls lined with tongue & groove boarding. Stairs lead up to the bedrooms and bathroom. Shrub is on a corner, and faces a quiet country lane. It has lots of character, such as the sloping floors in the cosy double bedroom. There is a small patio area directly in front of the cottage which benefits from all the morning sunshine. Parking is directly outside the cottage.

Rose - sleeps 4 (1 double, 1 twin bedroom).

Rose is a pretty, single-storey cottage, with beamed ceilings and an open aspect onto its own private rear garden (great for BBQs on summer evenings). Rose has an open-plan living/dining/kitchen room with a large window and deep window seating. The double bedroom looks out onto the courtyard garden. The twin bedroom, which faces the rear garden, has a large window with window seat. Rose can be accessed from the courtyard, or through the rear garden with steps up to the property. Parking is in the private car park (accessed through rear garden).

Jasmine - sleeps 3 (1 double, 1 single bedroom).

Jasmine is single storey, with a cosy, open plan living/dining/kitchen room with bedrooms and bathroom leading off. The bedroom and living rooms windows face onto the courtyard garden. Jasmine is ideal for couples or smaller families. Parking is directly outside.

Rashleigh and Thrift

Rashleigh and Thrift were originally part of a large cob barn which was used by the local fishermen. Both properties are single storey with Delabole slate kitchen floors and beamed ceilings.

Thrift - sleeps 2 (1 double bedroom) with shower room.

Thrift is the smallest of our properties. It's very cosy, compact and ideal for couples. Access is through the courtyard garden. Parking is in the private car park nearby.

Rashleigh - sleeps 6 (2 doubles, 1 twin bedroom) with shower room and separate second toilet.

Rashleigh has a spacious feel and, with its open-plan living/dining/kitchen room, is ideal for larger families. A patio door from the landing leads directly into the garden. There is parking just outside the property, and a disabled ramp up to the front entrance.

  • Some cottages have wood burning stoves, with logs provided.
  • Electric/gas, linen and towels included in the price.
  • Colour TV and direct dial telephones.
  • Fully equipped kitchens.
  • Laundry facilities on site.

  • Car parking next to, or near, each cottage.

  Tregudda Apartments - fabulous views for larger families and groups


Two lovely, self-contained apartments - Upper and Lower Tregudda - enjoying an elevated position overlooking Port Isaac Bay and the delightful cove of Port Gaverne.

If you are planning a break out of season, check out our special 'per person' rates.
Upper and Lower Tregudda are ideal for large families and group get-togethers. We can accommodate up to 16 people - eight in each apartment.

Upper Tregudda on the first floor, has a large sitting room with panoramic views across Port Isaac Bay. There is also a kitchen, dining room, four bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en suite). The sitting room, dining room and master bedroom have French windows opening onto a large, sunny, sea-facing balcony.

Lower Tregudda is a lovely ground floor apartment. The large, comfortable sitting room offers beautiful views across Port Isaac Bay. There is also a kitchen/dining room, four bedrooms, a shower room and two bathrooms (one en suite). The master bedroom and sitting room have French doors leading directly onto the garden.

  • Colour TV, Video and CD player.
  • All electric, towels and linen included in the price.
