| ACCOMMODATION: Main
entrance to the Boathouse is up a few wooden steps on to the
South facing balcony, providing a wonderful outdoor seating
and dining area overlooking the River Cober Valley. The door
leads to a small lobby and dining room. The main open plan room
has comfortable 5.0" wide double bed settee and two lounge
chairs, a gallery kitchen and a door leading to the shower room
with W.C. and wash hand basin. Also from the main room, there
is a loft ladder which when pulled down into position, leads
to a loft gallery which has two mattresses, ideal for adults
and children aged 5 and over to sleep. |
| THE GARDEN: A
private secluded lawn to play crocquet or clock golf is available,
with a tropical shrubbery to the side to create that truly mediterranean
feeling. It is also an ideal area in which to have a BBQ. |

THE LOCATION: Porkellis
is a small working inland rural village which has its origins
in Agriculture & Tin Mining. It is located at a rural crossroads
on the eastern side of a crossing of the Cober river in attractive
countryside, close to land designated as an area of great
landscape value. It has and 18th century free house pub and
a village hall. The village
is ideally situated for visiting the towns of Helston, Penzance,
St. Ives, Truro and Padstow and close to Falmouth with its
famouse maritime connections. It is also very well situated
for both the north and south coast beaches and in easy reach
of the Eden Project, plus many beautiful gardens and historic
buildings. There are many public footpaths around the village
for thoses fresh air walks. Asda and Tesco operate a 24 hour
service four miles from the village.

| ACTIVITIES: The
following activities are available within a five mile radius:
Canoeing, Cycling, Bird watching, Walking, Rowing, Horse riding,
Lake fishing, Sea fishing, Golf Surfing, Sailing, Indoor & outdoor
swimming. Flambards & Poldark Mine (Theme Parks) are also
within 5 miles. |
| ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES:
The normal check in time is 2.00pm The
departure time is 10.30am. |
| TELEPHONE: There
is no telephone at the boathouse but reception is good for mobile
phones. There is also a public telephone in the centre of Porkellis
adjacent to the Star Inn Pub. |
| LINEN: All
linen is provided including towels but please bring your own
towels for the beach. Towels must not be removed for use outside.
Fresh linen is provided between tanancies & each week during
longer stays. Tea towels are also provided. |
| BABY SITTING: A
baby sitter can be arranged, please ask for details. |
| GENERAL EQUIPMENT:
The boathouse has the following: - Fridge/freezer,
Colour TV with Freeview and Video, Microwave oven, small Electric
Cooker, Hairdryer, Iron, Hoover and HiFi system. |
| LAUNDRY & STORAGE ROOM:
There is a laundry & storage room
below with washing machine; tumbler drier, ironing board. B.B.Q.
& deck chairs. |
| KEYS: Keys
are obtainable from the owners at Rose Cottage upon arrival. |
| UTILITY BILLS: All
electricity for cooking & heating is inclusive of cost. |
| IN HOUSE ENTERTAINMENT:
There is a good selection of fiction
& non fiction books including some local history publications
& magazines, Indoor games, Video's & CD's are available
for your use, and Binoculars for bird watching. (We also suppy
the wild bird food!!). |
| CYCLING: As
well as walking, there are many places to cycle in Cornwall
& the Camel & Bissoe Trails have been created especially
for families to go biking including the hiring of bikes, however
guests are welcome to bring their own bikes as they can be stored
on the premises under cover. |
| VEHICLE PARKING: Parking
is available next to the Boathouse including space for your
trailer, should you wish to bring your own boat. |
