| Out
and about |
|
The
nearest village is Polperro, a historic fishing village, virtually
unchanged in the last 100 years (10 minutes walk or 20 if you
prefer to take the picturesque coast path route. There’s plenty
of space in Polperro’s main car park if you prefer or need to
drive and the village has its own unique horse-drawn tram service.)
There are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, including
The Blue Peter Inn which has regular live music. The nearest
beach is Talland Bay (5 minutes walk) – with a good quality
café that opens in the spring, summer and early autumn. There’s
quick access to the South West Coast Path, leading east to Talland
Bay, Looe and beyond or west to Polperro, Fowey and beyond.
The busy fishing town of Looe is a popular resort, offering
plenty to do for all the family. It’s only 4 miles away (5 minutes
by car or 40 minutes walk on the coastpath). There’s also a
regular bus service connecting Polperro and Looe. Further afield,
you can visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project,
Mount Egecumbe, Lanhydrock, Cotele and The Monkey Sanctuary
to mention just a few. |
