Chy-an-Gof is situated at Pendeen on the north Cornwall coast
an area steeped in tin mining history. It stands in an area
of outstanding natural beauty and has recently been awarded
world heritage status. The Geevor tin mine is literally on
the doorstep as are the old workings at Levant and Botallack
and makes this a wonderful place from which to explore the
many aspects of this national heritage. The coastal paths
are a great asset to the area and provide excellent opportunities
for walking, climbing, mountain biking or horse-riding.
The local beach at Portherras is a dog friendly beach. The
village of Pendeen offers popular restaurants such as the
Meadery (a medieval style family restaurant) three pubs one
of which has won the cambra pub of the year award, a shop,
post office, fish and chip shop and a pottery/gallery all
of these amenities are within easy walking distance of Chy-an-Gof.
