Kestrels occupies a delightful rural setting, with
sea views and is located about 1 mile from Morvah,
2 miles from Pendeen, and within about one and half
miles from the sandy beach at Portherras Cove. This
is a much loved location in what is considered by
some as a "wild" part of Cornwall, renowned for its
Celtic heritage and historic sights such as the Nine
Maidens Standing Stones, Lanyon Quoit, Men-an-Tol
and Chysauster. Although rural, it is within easy
reach of St Just, St Ives and Penzance, the latter
having a particularly good range of shops, supermarkets,
banks, restaurants and pubs. The Gurnard’s Head (voted
Dining Pub of the Year 2008) is within a mile from
Kestrels, as is The Tinners Arms at Zennor. There
are several farms in the area offering excellent cream
teas.
