The Farm
Farmhouse and cottage entranceThe approach is from a quiet moorland lane, over a private drive to a small courtyard to where the farmhouse and cottage are situated.

The first recorded history of Mellon was 1311- known then as Middlelond (middle land); there is evidence around the farm to indicate an earlier settlement.
Farmhouse and cottage approach from moorland lane The farm is set in 18 acres comprising of hay meadows and permanent pasture, these small fields of about 1 or 2 acres (rare these days) are encased by ancient hedgerows, which provide a variety of wildlife and plants. A stream borders the land to the west, which flows, into the River Camel.
Sheep grazing on the farmlandThe farmland is grazed and managed traditionally without the use of artificial fertilisers or pesticides.

We currently have a small flock of Jacob sheep and some Black Rock hens, eggs are often available.
