Welcome to Tregew Holiday Bungalows, (Marazion, Cornwall). |
| "TREGEW VEAN" and "GWEL TREGEW" are two self contained one bedroom bungalows sleeping two/three people each, on the hillside overlooking the Western end of Marazion, only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village, the beach, and regular bus routes. |
| Both bungalows have the same number of rooms, "GWEL TREGEW" being the larger bungalow. They are adjoined one on each side to the owner's detached bungalow which has a garden at the front and access is by our private drive, which has off road parking with a parking space at the foot for each holiday bungalow. |
| The town of Marazion lies three miles east of Penzance on the shores of Mounts Bay, adjacent to St. Michael's Mount. There is a ferry service to the Mount at high tide, and access is on foot via the cobbled causeway for several hours around low tide. |
| There is a regular bus service between Penzance, Marazion, Helston, and Falmouth. The railway station at Penzance has a frequent train service to London, which connects at Taunton, Exeter or Plymouth with trains from the Midlands and the North. Penzance/Lands End is also the base for the ferry and helicopter services to the Isles Of Scilly. |

| Marazion |
| The beach at Marazion, which was awarded
the blue flag (for clean water), is spacious, sandy and stretches
some 2.5 miles along the shore to Penzance. The beach is very safe
for swimming and is suitable for children. There is also a lifeguard
station on the beach manned in the summer months. It is popular in
summer but seldom much crowded. |
| Dinghy sailors, Wind surfers, and
Kite surfers use the beach, which host international Sailing, Kite,
and Windsurfing competitions, and Mounts Bay Sailing club is based
there. Temporary membership can be arranged, should visitors wish
to bring their own dinghy and use the clubs facilities. The shore
between Marazion and Penzance is popular with sea anglers, and boat
angling trips can be arranged from the Harbour at Penzance. |
| Marazion marshes (RSPB nature reserve),
which lie half a mile west of the village, are well known and popular
with bird watchers, particularly at the times of annual migration.
Shopping facilities in Marazion include a baker, post office, chemist,
and general store with news agent, art galleries, craft shops, antique
shop and several gift shops. Marazion surgery houses a group practice
of doctors. |
| Eating and drinking facilities are
available from four pubs; there are several restaurants of varying
size and price range. Food is also available from beach kiosks during
the summer months. Marazion also has a fish and chip shop open in
the summer. Marazion has a Church of England and Wesleyan Church and
a Quaker meeting house. The nearest Roman Catholic Church is in Penzance.
Of course the most famous feature in Marazion is the Island of St
Michael's Mount which sits proudly in the bay and can be seen in its
entirety from both properties. |

By Road:
Take the A30 to Penzance. As you approach Penzance there are signposts directing you to Marazion and St Michael's Mount. Drive into the West and of Marazion until you reach the 'Godolphin Arms' pub, on the right hand side of the road. Opposite the pub is a narrow side street called 'Beacon Road', turn left up Beacon Road and follow it uphill. The street runs straight uphill for a few hundred yards, and then twists to the left and right as it skirts a small memorial garden.
The road continues to climb as it turns to the left under some trees and finally emerges with a sea view on the left, as it levels off to a gentler gradient. Approximately 100 yards further on you will see on your right a name board 'TREGEW' at a driveway entrance. The driveway bends quite sharply, and you should inspect it on foot before attempting to drive or reverse up it. |
