'Pras-Gwylas' is a recently built stone cottage situated in The Lizard village. A comfortable and welcoming family home, it combines the charm of a traditional cottage fitted out with old ships' timbers, stripped wood flooring and beamed ceilings with all the benefits of a modern centrally-heated, double-glazed property. Only ten minutes walk from the beaches and coast The Lizard it is ideally situated for exploring the most southerly part of Great Britain and has beautiful views of the sea.

In front of the cottage is private parking for two cars and an attractive courtyard garden with a driftwood bench seat. The front stable door opens onto a wide hallway and study area with a piano, extensive library and collection of videos, from which guests are welcome to choose during their stay. Off the hallway, lies the open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room. The kitchen is beautifully hand-crafted in wood and terracotta and has a fridge, freezer, cooker with ceramic hob and large Belfast sink. The sitting room has a large slate and granite fireplace, is comfortably furnished, and has a stereo system and wide-screen television video / DVD player. French doors open from the sitting room into a conservatory and this in turn leads into a lovely, private, enclosed rear garden with a lawn, seating and a drying line for clothes. Also on the ground floor are two of the three bedrooms and the bathroom. Both bedrooms are spacious twin rooms with plenty of hanging and storage space; One has lovely sea views and the other looks out over the garden. The bathroom is also very large and has a double whirlpool bath tub with a shower over. The washing machine is built into this room. In the study, a paddle staircase leads to the master bedroom and another sitting room. This has beautiful sea views, plenty of storage space and a king-sized bed.

The cottage is situated only two minutes walk from shops, Post Office, the popular Top House pub / restaurant, and only ten minutes to Lizard Point, the most southerly tip of Cornwall. The well-known sandy coves at Kynance and Housel Bay are both within walking distance, while the traditional fishing village of Cadgwith is only a short drive and the market town of Helston, with a large supermarket, is 15 miles away. Heating, electricity and bed linen are included in the rental. Guests should, however, provide their own towels. The owners require access to the garage and workshop, which are to the side of the cottage, and to their own private garden area.

We only accept bookings of two weeks and our changeovers are fortnightly on Saturdays on the dates shown below.

Booking Conditions

Reservations can be made over the phone or by e-mail. You can then either print a copy of these booking conditions along with the booking form below, or if you would prefer, you can ask us to send you a booking form to complete to confirm the booking. Phone and e-mail reservations will be held for 7 days pending arrival of a completed booking form accompanied by a cheque for the appropriate deposit. The full payment for the holiday falls due at least 8 weeks before the start date of the holiday. All payments can be made by cheque, postal order, cash or banker’s draft. Please make payable to R. Jeal.. The rental period for the property is from 4p.m. on the Saturday of arrival to 10a.m. on the Saturday of departure. Arrangements to leave bags in the house after 10a.m. on the Saturday of arrival can be made with the owners. We strongly advise guests to take out holiday cancellation insurance. Details of a suitable policy taken out by previous guests can be provided if needed. When booking the property, you undertake to keep it and all furniture and effects in the same state of repair as at the start of your holiday and to leave the premises in the same state as found. Any damage or breakages must be paid for. The cottage is equipped for five people, although a sixth person can be comfortably accommodated if necessary. All guests, including babies, must be included on the booking form. Bookings will not be accepted from groups of single persons under the age of 25 and all male or all female parties. We will accept one dog (by arrangement) at an extra cost of £25 per week
