| Situated
above the river and enjoying spectacular views |
|
| Tremerlin is a two storey property dramatically
sited above the river and enjoying spectacular views. A covered veranda
and open deck offer the possibility of dining outside and contemplation
of glorious sunsets. |
| This dramatic site is surrounded by National Trust
woodland and is accessed by a woodland drive leading down to the 1920’s
house overlooking the timeless river Helford. From a dedicated parking
area for two vehicles, a cobbled and grassy pathway leads down to
the ground floor Apartment. |
| From the house secretive pathways lead away from
flat open lawns to glades of magnolia, camellia and honeysuckle festooning
ancient oaks. |
| Past woodland ponds and tree ferns the property
enjoys a splendid quay and slipway of ancient granite. An ideal setting
for small boat sailing, and exploring the shoreline and tributaries
of the Helford River. |
| The accommodation can comfortably sleep four but
the addition of a tiny bunkroom based on a cabin on the Night Riviera
train provides beds for two further guests or children. There is an
exceptional little riverside studio that may be included by arrangement. |
| Please note there is no telephone but good mobile
network coverage through some service providers. Bedlinen and towels
are provided. There is a barbeque area outside the Apartment, and
use of a trampoline and table-tennis table. Small sailing boats etc
can be hired locally and it’s possible to anchor nearby, plus there
is fishing off the quay. No pets, and no smoking in the house, changeover
is on Friday afternoons. |
| The Accommodation |
| Tremerlin is artistically furnished in an eclectic
and cosy style and comprises two bedrooms – one double and one twin,
that can be made into a double, both with their own bathrooms plus
a tiny bunk room for small people or the occasional guest, all with
river views. The kitchen and living area is open plan with fabulous
river views, the dining table in an extended bay window with French
doors that lead on to the patio and veranda. Heating is provided by
night storage heaters and a wood/coal stove in the living area. |
| The comfortable interior has been gently refurbished
bit by bit using old pine, blue slate, red cedar and loose rugs on
wooden floors. There is an electric cooker with ceramic top in the
kitchen, as well as a microwaved, fridge freezer, electric kettle,
dishwasher and washing machine. An ironing board, airer and iron are
also provided. Hot water is supplied via a hot water cylinder with
electric immersion. All beds have good firm mattresses, two pillows
and either blankets or a duvet. A high chair and cot are available. |
