Welcome to Mayrose Holiday Cottages
Mayrose farmhouse dates from the 17th century and, with its seven stone cottages, and five touring caravan and camping pitches with hook-ups, set in 17 acres of fields overlooking the picturesque Allen Valley. Situated on a quiet country lane off the A39 between Camelford and Wadebridge, the farm is within easy reach of sandy beaches, Cornwall's famous gardens and great houses, and Bodmin Moor with its du Maurier associations.

They have modern, well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms. Quality bedlinen, duvets and towels are provided. Each cottage has its own private garden with barbecue and garden furniture. Around Mayrose
The Swimming Pool - Mayrose has a large, sheltered heated swimming pool. On a summer day lounge by the pool and think you are in the Mediterranean - sheltering walls and shrub planting create an oasis of sheltered warmth. Even on a rainy day the children can swim while parents watch from the glass-roofed patio area. Our pool is heated and kept to a constant ambient temperature, from mid May to mid September, weather permitting.
The Duck Pond - Tranquility is to be found after a 5 minute walk on the path beside our fields down to the large duck pond. A delightful spot to wander down to for a picnic or evening stroll. Some folks take barbeques down on warm summer evenings. It is our favourite spot for summer Sunday lunchtimes, bbq or picnic and, of course, a bottle or two and no need to drive. The ducks are extremely friendly and will join you, they have even been known to keep watch on sleeping children.
The Games Room - Books and DVDs are available to borrow from our games room where there are comfy chairs to relax on. A great place to sit on an early spring day, or cooler autumn afternoon with the sunshine streaming in. We also have some games to borrow, toys for the toddlers, and a pool table for the parents.

The Farm & Animals - Mayrose Farm is run by David and Jane as a home for our pet animals. Grazing the fields and always wanting a nose scratch are Woolly, Harriet and Barny the sheep. Our chickens love to be talked to and provide us with lovely fresh eggs, which we sell on site. Their yolks are so yellow with all the grass they eat. The rabbits and guinea pigs also like a visit especially if carrots are involved. Our resident geese seem to keep everyone in order. Our toddler and children visitors love watching them all and throwing scraps to the chickens. If you want to meet some cheeky characters then say hello to our miniature Shetland ponies, Alfie Whizz and Petal.
Walks - From the bottom of the fields you can get onto the network of lanes around Mayrose Farm, or just stroll round our footpath, rest by the lake and wander back to your cottage or the pool.
The Countryside - Mayrose Farm is close to the A39 so a brilliant place to stay to visit all of the attractions of Cornwall. The Eden project is only 30mins away, Padstow 30 mins, or why not visit the popular area of Rock and then spend a few hours in Padstow by crossing on the ferry, just a 10 minute delightful journey across the estuary. Views from the ferry are stunning. About 10 minutes drive away is the very beautiful wild areas of Bodmin Moor. Wonderful walks where you hardly meet a soul, and glorious views, try taking an evening stroll and watch the sunset over the sea, also viewing nearly all of Cornwall from Roughtor. I have seen the isle of Lundy from there many times. Just walking along our lanes is a joy, so often full of many wild flowers.
Wedding Catering Cornwall - The Good Food Catering Company run their business from our premises and cater for weddings all over the South West, particularly in Cornwall. Here at Mayrose we can offer a wedding reception venue with space for you to hire a marquee - the marquee site provides fabulous views down the Allen Valley. During May and September (outside of the main holiday season) we can also offer accommodation in our cottages. Why not book the whole site for friends and family!
