In a peaceful secluded location lies Dux Farm, a Devon longhouse which dates from the 16th century. It is a family run 25 acre working smallholding comprising sheep and horses. Flanked by the house and the old stable yard is Dux Cottage which has recently been sensitively and tastefully converted to provide an excellent base from which to explore the North Devon area.

Although the Barn is not registered for disabled use, care has been taken to implement easy access to the ground floor where the kitchen and dining room are to be found. The kitchen has an electric ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The main bedroom is also downstairs with spacious ensuite facilities. Upstairs is a comfortable beamed sitting room with French windows overlooking farmland and complete with television, DVD and video. A further twin bedded room and family bathroom are across the landing. Outside a garden seating area can be found at the front of the cottage.

A charming conversion from the old stables with an unique semi-circular shape has two en-suite bedrooms and is set in a tranquil setting.

The double bedroom has plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space + ensuite facilities, comprising of shower, wash-hand basin and WC. The spacious twin bedded room with wardrobe and cupboard space is adjacent to its ensuite comfortably sized family bathroom with bath, WC and hand basin. A cosy sitting room with television, DVD and video looks out across the fields. A stable door gives access to outside seating area.

To the rear of the cottage is a peaceful seating area adjacent to our own paddocks. Ample off-road parking.

We are ideally placed to take advantage of the lovely beaches in and around Bude (about 15 minutes in the car) or for the keen golfer to enjoy an 18 hole championship golf course also in Bude. A further 18 hole golf course is to be found at Holsworthy, as is a good riding school. If the wilderness beckons then Dartmoor and the rugged coastline of Cornwall is within easy reach. Our village shop is about a mile away as is an excellent pub and restaurant. Either way at the end of the day a peaceful welcome is assured back in the peaceful comfort of Dux Cottages.
