| Situated in the grounds of a 19th-century
Cotswold-style manor house, the chalet is in a private area
within the popular Penstowe Holiday Village. “17 The Glade”,
with its own private balcony, is a fully furnished self-catering,
non -smoking holiday bungalow with a double bedroom and a twin
room. It has a bright and sunny open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen,
modern bathroom with power shower, wash hand basin and w.c.
The chalet has electric storage heaters throughout, and is equipped
with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, radio/CD player
and television/D.V.D player. |

| There is a superb Cabaret Suite with sunken
dance floor and large bar, lounge bar and restaurant. During
the summer, there is a programme of varied entertainment, dancing
and discos. A children’s club and activities run throughout
the summer period. For the sport minded, there is a large multi-purpose
sports hall available for badminton, five-a-side football and
other activities. There are also 3 full sized indoor bowls rinks,
a room with a full size snooker table, pool tables, a squash
court and Ten Pin bowling alley. Adjoining the tropically heated
22 meter indoor swimming pool are the saunas and jacuzzi. Outside
there is a large sunbathing terrace, beer garden and tennis
court, plus children's play area set in the mature and beautiful
Manor gardens. (A charge will be made for court hire and use
of sauna and jacuzzi. Sports equipment is available for hire).

| Temporary membership to the facilities can
be arranged by applying to the Manor House Reception on arrival.
Penstowe has a new system that allows guests to purchase daily
membership rather than weekly, allowing you the freedom to choose
which days, if any, you wish to use the facilities. Prices for
the 2009 season are included at the end of these pages. The
heated outdoor pool and children's pool with its own restaurant
and bar are free. There is also a shop and coin operated launderette
on site. |

| The nearby village of Kilkhampton is within
easy walking distance as is the breathtaking North Cornish coastline
with its miles of National Trust cliff top walks. The nearest
beach is the rugged Sandymouth Beach, approximately 3 miles
away with its own car park and a super little café/restaurant!

| The chalet is also in close proximity (distance
approximately 5 miles) to the attractive, vibrant North Cornwall
coastal town of Bude with its wide range of facilities and amenities
including surf schools, safe, sandy beaches, cinema, supermarkets,
cafes and restaurants. Bude, with its miles of beaches is second
only to Newquay in its surfing reputation! Widemouth Bay is
just a couple of minutes south from Bude with equally good surf.

| Directions |

From the M5, exit at Junction 27 and take
the A361.
This new fast road will provide a direct link to the A39 (The
Atlantic Highway). From Bideford you will pass through the village
of Kilkhampton. The sign for ‘Penstowe Holidays’ will be on
your right as you pass out of Kilkhampton towards Bude.
Alternatively, make your way to Bude via A30 and A3072. At Stratton
(1 mile from Bude) turn right on to the A39 (towards Bideford).
After 3 miles, look for signpost to Penstowe on your left. |
| Once you enter the driveway,
continue for a few hundred meters until you see a small sign
on your left saying ‘The Glade’. You will need to park your
car here and walk along the path to number 17, which is clearly
stated. Parking can be difficult in peak times and occasionally
you may have to park your car in another area within the grounds. |

| Arriving & Departing |
| I ask for a deposit of £75.00 to secure
your booking, followed by the outstanding payment one month
before the date of your arrival. Keys are then sent to your
home address approximately 2 weeks before this date – enclosed
is also a self addressed and pre-paid envelope for guests to
return the keys. |
| In order to allow time for the chalet to
be cleaned, I would ask guests to avoid arriving before 3pm.
For the same reasons the chalet should be vacated by 11am am
on the final day of hire and should be left in an acceptable
condition. |
| A maximum of four adults are included in
the cost of hire, however the sofa bed in the living area does
allow for a further 2 people. Children are free but to allow
for the extra costs of hot water (included in the price), a
charge of 10% per adult will be added to the hire cost. If you
do intend to use the sofa bed, own bedding, (duvets/sheets and
pillows) will be required. |
| 10.5 summer weight duvets and pillows are
provided and bed linen and towels can also be provided and made
up for your arrival at a small cost of £15. |
| In order to maintain high standards 17 The
Glade is a no smoking and pet free chalet, which I hope guests
will understand. There is an outside patio area which guests
can use as a smoking area. |

| Wheelchair Users |
| 17 The Glade is not suitable for wheelchair
users due to the steps up to the balcony area. An Access Statement
is available which will provide further details - please ask
