There are splendid views of St. Austell Bay and farmland and just minutes away are many lovely walks - coastal, riverside and inland.

The town of Fowey, set on the lovely river of the same name, is just 1½ miles away. The town has a long tradition of seafaring and offers the holiday maker the opportunity of fishing and taking boat trips, both along the upper reaches of the river and the coastline. There is plenty of exploring to do in this delightful town with its long history. As well as being a lively yachting centre (considered to be amongst the loveliest in the country) there are several restaurants and hostelries where good food is obtainable. Penhale overlooks the beautiful countryside where Daphne Du Maurier was inspired to write many of her novels.

1¼ miles to the west of Penhale is the popular sandy beach of Polkerris. Once a busy fishing village it now boasts soft sand, rock pools and a pub right on the beach which also offers good food. As it is centrally situated Penhale is a good base from which to explore Cornwall and enjoy the many different aspects of this lovely county.

* Static caravans for hire. Each caravan is connected to mains water and electricity and has a shower, toilet, gas cooker, refrigerator and colour T V. Parking is next to each unit. * Touring caravans, camper vans and tents have a separate area with level and gently sloping pitches. There is plenty of space with no overcrowding. Some electrical hook-ups are available and booking for these is advisable. * The shower block has hot showers, flush toilets, wash basins with free hot water; hair dryer and electrical shaving points. * The laundry room has a washing machine and tumble dryer and sinks with free hot water for both * dish and clothes washing. Iron and ironing boards available from reception. * The games room has table tennis and a pool table. * Milk and fresh free-range eggs are available from reception. During July and August additional 'Basics' are available. * An ice pack service * Camping Gaz and Calor gas is stocked * Both Fowey and Par have grocery stores. Par also has a small supermarket and there is a superstore in St. Austell (10-15 mins drive). * pay phone on site. * A petrol station, which also sells newspapers, is just over a mile away.
