| The "Ancient Shipbrokers" is an impressive Victorian
house set in over 1 acre of coastal meadow. We have a unique spot
cradled between the sea and the rolling agricultural fields towards
the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Enjoying an elevated position we have
fantastic views of the sea, Mevagissey fishing fleet and Pentewan
village, beach and harbour. Facing south, the garden and newly built
deck soak up the sun as soon as it appears…ideal for drinking a
bottle of wine, reading and relaxing. We are not licensed but provide
wine glasses and corkscews for your convenience. |
| Mel and Wendy are pleased to open their home
to guests and take every opportunity to make your stay as enjoyable
as possible. Mel loves to cook breakfast and give advice on places
to visit, especially those off the beaten track. He has lived in
Cornwall since the 1970s whilst Wendy was born in the county and
is true Cornish. |

| The coastal village of Pentewan . . . . |
| Pentewan is a small coastal village just 3
miles south of St Austell, which is situated at the north eastern
corner of the tri-angular "Roseland Peninsular", with St Mawes at
the southern tip. |
| Situated on the eastern coast of the Peninsular,
the village of Pentewan has a long sandy beach, safe for swimming
and all watersports, with the coastal path easily accessible from
either end of the beach. The Pentewan Cycle Trail way terminates
in the village and cycle hire is available from March to October.
|
| The village has its own diving school, pub,
restaurant, shops, garage and post office, as well as a lovely tea-room
in the village square, selling delicious home-made cakes. It is
also well served by the local bus service, with a regular service
to the neighbouring village of Mevagissey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan,
St Austell, The Eden Project, Charlstown and Fowey. |
