Our spacious flat is perfectly situated for those looking for a seaside holiday as it is on the cliff top above the glorious 3 miles of sandy beach on St Ives Bay at Riviere Towans. Here you can enjoy lots of different beach activities. The coast path also passes right in front of our garden so it’s an excellent spot for making forays into the dunes or around the estuary if you are feeling energetic. It has proved very popular with families, with surfers and with painters, some of whom come back every year.

Our flat is being newly decorated and furnished for 2008 and has many interesting beachy features for a fun holiday in comfortable surroundings. We have parking for 2 vehicles on our own gravelled courtyard and access is up a flight of exterior stairs.

The Lounge is a large, bright, south facing room with a sofa (which folds down to make an occasional double bed), a set of directors’ chairs in ice cream stripes, a small tv with dvd player, and a round games table complete with a selection of playing cards, board games, and books. From this room you can see over the estuary and beach to Porth Kidney sands and the hills beyond. Sometimes we have a group of dolphins playing in the bay, and last year we had numerous visits from basking sharks. You can watch the brightly painted little fishing boats going in and out when the tide is right, and often we have wind and kite surfers with their colourful sails to entertain us in the shallows. You will find a pair of binoculars on the window seat to increase the fun! We will leave you paints and crayons in case you feel the need to put it on paper! We often have artists staying and you can see some of their masterpieces on the walls!

Separate Kitchen
Here we have a large kitchen/ diner with cooker, fridge and freezer, microwave, etc., and a round dining table with seating for six (and Cath Kidston tablecloth). There is plenty of new equipment for preparing and serving meals. Please note that there is no dishwasher. There is also a rack for hanging raincoats and wetsuits, plus an outside storage area for surfboards and other beach equipment.

There are 2 bedrooms, the first with a double bed and cot, and the second with a pair of single beds and a pair of bunk beds. Both have wardrobes and wash basins and the view from the dormer windows across St Ives Bay to Carbis Bay, St Ives and the sunset. It really is a fab view!

Outside
We provide you with a barbeque and a set of wooden garden furniture (table and seating for 4 painted in a lovely nautical blue) on the wide lawn facing the beach. There is a windbreak and various pieces of beach equipment, including a picnic basket, vacuum flask, bodyboards, buckets and spades, etc. provided at the beginning of the season at Easter. Please let us know if you can think of anything else you may need to make your holiday more comfortable, and we’ll see what we can do! Please note that you’ll need to bring your own linen. A single dog is welcome out of season at a cost of £25 per week. We are open all year, with short breaks available from October to Easter. Our changeover day is Friday, and tariffs are between £200 and £550 a week.

It may not be luxurious but it’s comfortable and relaxed and you’ll be very welcome! Please note that it is possible at the moment to book all 3 separate parts of the Beach House together to sleep a party of up to 20 people.
