OUR FLAT is perfect for one person or a couple - comfortable, convenient, and with this stunning view of the harbour, the sea and the North Cornwall coast. Everyone who's been there loves it. It's right in the middle of St Ives, and beaches, shops and restaurants are all within a few minutes walk. There's one double bedroom. The kitchen is small but well fitted, bright and practical. The whole flat was refitted and decorated in late '98 when we bought it. It's cheerful, lots of posters, very IKEA! Sorry but no smoking, and no dogs.

ST IVES is a brilliant place for holidays all the year round. It was once just a fishing village, and has a lovely harbour. When the tide goes out the harbour is clean yellow sand. There are lots of other beaches - one faces west and is great for surfing. There are two body surfing boards in the flat, which you are welcome to use and wetsuits can be hired quite cheaply in the town.

The light, and the beauty of St Ives have always brought artists - the town is liberally scattered with all kinds of galleries, with art to browse and art to buy. There's the internationally famous St Ives Tate Gallery, and you can also visit Barbara Hepworth's house and sculpture garden. Both of these are just a few minutes walk away from our flat.

You can walk for miles along the cliffs. The village of Zennor where D H Lawrence once lived is wonderful 4 hour walk. There's pub and tea room there, and you can come home by taxi or bus. St Ives is a lively little town with lots of good restaurants, shops, banks and even a little cinema. You can get there by train quite easily, and there are plenty of bus routes if you want to explore the area that way. St Ives was not built for cars and Barnoon Terrace itself is only accessible on foot (so it's very quiet - apart from the seagulls). The nearest car park is 100 yards away.
