| Underground
tour of old disused tin mine by special arrangement. Adventureline further information
Normally, we cater for up to 8 clients, and so our supply of the items mentioned
below is adequate, but most keen walkers have their own trusty equipment. Don't
forget shorts and swimming costumes if you come in summer, because the sea here
is beautiful. Springtime is often overlooked by many - and we think that late
April, May, June and early July are perhaps the best times to consider - due to
the abundance of wild flowers and breeding bird populations; though other times
to consider, apart from summer, would be early September, when it's still pleasantly
warm and there are fewer visitors around. Before
April (and even during April and May) and after late September, we offer other
destinations in various countries. (See "Catch the Sun" on the home page). |

![]() | The
Cornish climate ranges from wet to dry - and all things in between! Average annual
rainfall is about 35 inches and average temperatures between April and September
range from 14C to 26C (57-82F). From May onwards, it is quite comfortable to hike
in shorts. Because the south facing shore can often be bathed in sheltered sunshine,
the apparent temperature can often feel much hotter than that predicted and sunburn
can be encountered. Sometimes though, it is often quite windy and showery, but
we do sometimes enjoy long settled warm spells, when swimming in the crystal clear
and clean turquoise waters is a delight. In summer, the sea temperature gradually
warms up to about 18C or even 21C (70F) by August. |
| We can supply
small day packs, but more often these days, most folk prefer to bring their own
trusty gear! We also have several sets of binoculars for client's use. Recommended items are just suitable clothing for non-extreme climate, including a warm pullover and wind jacket. If you own good waterproofs (including leggings) - bring them, just in case of wet weather. Shorts should be brought between May & Sept, and don't forget your polaroid sungalsses and sun cream, camera and binoculars. Perhaps the most important item will be good, stout and "well worn-in" supportive footwear. If the weather is dry, it is often best to hike in comfortable trainers/shoes. Even good quality hiking sandals are very suitable too, so it's sensible to bring both sorts of footwear, so as to cover all sorts of conditions likely to be encountered. We carry a limited First Aid kit, and our guides are trained in First Aid. |
